2017 saw investment in our prestigious Venus office to improve the electricity metering strategy and identify energy savings.
Overview
16 electricity meters were installed on Venus’ low voltage (LV) supplies.
Submetering allowed accurate data could be collected and then exported to our energy management tool, Carbon Desktop, for greater analysis.
Greater visibility has led to reductions in energy use and more targeted actions.

80% of the landlord’s electricity was used to chill water
Peel L&P has invested £9 million transforming The Vic into a state of the art office that smashes its annual energy and carbon saving target.
Overview
Integrated a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) system capable of generating 16,000 kWh of electricity per year for site use.
Installed a 1,000 kW modular condensing boiler, which will reduce annual gas use for heating by 16%,providing 500 litres of high efficiency domestic hot water.
Replaced over 450 fluorescent and sodium vapour lamps with microwave controlled LEDs.
Fitted 17 high efficiency motors and Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) on water systems.
“With The Vic refurbishment we had an ideal opportunity to introduce cutting edge technology. This makes great sense for our customers, for Peel L&P as managers of Grade A office space, as well as for the environment in terms of lowering the carbon footprint of our building. The savings we are making are already evident week on week and we are confident our energy efficiency investment will help us to surpass our 3% energy reduction target.”
