Hulton Park update

Following the submission of our refreshed planning application for Hulton Park, Peel L&P has been listening closely to further feedback from the community and consultees. Based on this feedback, we have made several further amendments to the submitted scheme, which are available to view on Bolton Council’s website.

 These amendments include:

- The inclusion of an alternative highways option, connecting the A6 to the A58 Snydale Way via a roundabout. Consent for the original option, connecting the A6 to Junction 5 of the M61, is still also being sought at this time, but only one option will be built

- The proposed main road through the development, Park Avenue, has been straightened out a little, to allow a smoother flow of traffic throughout the site. Minor amendments have been made to the Academy golf course and residential areas to accommodate this change to Park Avenue

- The retention of Dearden’s Farm buildings and conversion into a village hall and other potential uses

- Several off-site footpath improvements in order to enhance connections to:

- Westhoughton and Daisy Hill station (to the west of the site)

- Atherton and Hag Fold station (to the south of the site)

- Cutacre Country Park (to the east of the site)

- The retention of the Pretoria Memorial route through Park End Farm, which requires amendments to the layout of the residential area

- The inclusion of outdoor sports facilities, which will be provided either on or off site

- The reduction in the number of lodges at the golf course, from 20 to 18 lodges

- The reduction of the size of the restaurant with rooms that formed an extension to Home Farm Cottage in order to retain the emphasis of the original building

Peel L&P remains committed to engaging with the local community regarding the plans and welcomes any further feedback on the amendments outlined above. Bolton Council will also be undertaking its own consultation with relevant statutory consultees ahead of determining the planning application in due course.
