Medway citizens encouraged to share thoughts on future jobs and housing needs
Peel L&P is inviting the local community to two open days at Chatham Waters on the 22nd and 29th June to view the initial masterplan concept for the proposed regeneration of Chatham Docks Industrial Estate. Medway residents are encouraged to attend and share their thoughts on the future plans for new employment floorspace that will help generate more than 2,000 new jobs as well as new public open space, a 2km riverside walk and circa 3,600 new homes.
Peel L&P is an award-winning British regeneration business with fifty years of experience and expertise and has been investing in shaping a brighter future for Chatham residents for over a decade.
The old lock gates at Chatham Docks Industrial Estate will cease to operate beyond 2025 which will end its use as a commercial dock and so Peel L&P has been shaping plans for how the location could provide a greater benefit to the local community for generations to come.
James Whittaker, Executive Director at Peel L&P said: “Listening and acting on the aspirations and needs of the local community is at the heart of the way we operate. For us there is no merit in creating a place that doesn’t match with local needs. We have already had various conversations with businesses and some of the surrounding community and are excited about meeting more people and gaining a broader picture of how we can shape the future of the area, and we encourage you to come down and have a conversation with us.”
The two public open days will be held at Unit 4, Ground Floor of The Kell Waterside Apartments, ME4 4SA, opposite the Waterfront UTC between 11am and 6pm on Wednesday 22nd and 29th June 2022.
Those unable to attend are encouraged to submit their feedback at www.chathamwaters.co.uk
