Peel L&P achieves global sustainability rating
Peel L&P has been awarded a silver medal for its sustainability achievements placing it in the top 10% of participating global companies specifically for its environmental performance.
The rating from EcoVadis commended Peel L&P’s waste management reporting, commitment to reducing energy consumption across its portfolio and work to track progress against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
In February this year, 10 of Peel L&P’s buildings were reverified by the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) for demonstrating net zero carbon status – a saving of 558 tonnes of carbon in a year, the equivalent volume of 98 full Olympic-sized swimming pools.
EcoVadis, is a global company that measures how well sustainability and corporate responsibility is integrated into businesses and their management systems.
Paul Chappels, Peel L&P’s Facilities Management Director said: “This is a great achievement for Peel L&P, showing our ongoing commitment as a property partner to embed sustainability in our business practices.
“We have successfully operated the ISO 50001 energy management system for many years and more recently in 2020, created a Net Zero Carbon portfolio of office buildings. The EcoVadis Silver Medal recognises that we are taking action on social and ethical issues as well as environmental matters.”
