Marks & Spencer is to open a brand new Outlet store this autumn, well ahead of the Christmas rush, at Lowry Outlet, located in MediaCityUK, Manchester.
The new 1,394 sq m (15,000 sq ft) store will stock a range of M&S products across Womenswear & Lingerie, Menswear and Kids offering customers between 30% and 60% discount off high street prices. It will replace the existing M&S Outlet store at Lowry Outlet.
Rob Morray, Head of Property Planning at Marks & Spencer, said: “In addition to opening new stores we’re always thinking about how we can improve our existing store estate for our customers. Our new store will ensure we continue to bring the very best of our outlet offering to Lowry Outlet”.
Marks & Spencer will be Lowry Outlet’s largest store serving customers alongside Next Outlet, Clarks, Gap Outlet and many more. The new store will sit alongside the outlet’s wider offering, including restaurants, bars and cafes, an on-site Vue cinema and a newly enlarged Virgin Active Gym which adds to the leisure mix.
Jason Pullen, Managing Director of Peel Outlets, said: “Lowry Outlet is on the radar of retail and leisure/lifestyle operators thanks to both regional dominance and rising footfall. This is a centre which has customer pulling power and the growth in both footfall and, the important addition of this new Marks & Spencer store, will further enhance that.”
Adrian Wright, Peel Outlets Leasing Director, said: “Lowry Outlet is creating a major lifestyle and leisure experience and the iconic brand of Marks and Spencer in this new store will add additional vibrancy to the centre. Occupier interest in Lowry Outlet has been strong as we set out to create an offer that expands the centre and, extends its appeal into fashion, whilst complemented as a growing destination for food and film.”
Lowry Outlet, the waterside shopping and leisure complex located in the heart of MediaCityUK, Manchester, is home to more than 80 stores, restaurants and cafes, as well as a multi-screen cinema and on-site Virgin Active Gym.
