Gloucester Quay’s award-winning Victorian Christmas Market will be back for an extended ‘Christmas Time’ this year with the longest ever running festive markets and the return of the much-loved open-air real ice rink.
Launching on Thursday 16 November, the 15 by 30 metre glittering ice rink, which was enjoyed by more than 30,000 skaters last year, returns to the Quays and tickets are now available to book online. The biggest free-entry Victorian Christmas Market in the South West will now run for an extended 11 day period until Sunday 26 November.
Following the Victorian Christmas Market, there will also be an Enchanted Christmas Market launching Monday 27 November which then runs all the way to Christmas Eve allowing even more time for shoppers to browse the beautiful festive chalets.
Matt Bird, centre manager at Gloucester Quays, said: “We’re thrilled to announce ‘Christmas Time at Gloucester Quays’ with the longest Victorian Christmas Market we’ve ever run and our fantastic ice rink returning. Perfect for anyone planning Christmas parties and festive days out, the ice rink tickets are now on sale and we hope as many people as possible enjoy the festivities with us this year.
“Every year, customers tell us how much they love the market so we decided to extend the event so that it can be enjoyed by even more shoppers from far and wide. There’ll be so much for all the family to enjoy with the jolly Victorian characters bringing the market to life transporting you back in time as well as a traditional carousel, real ale tavern and roast chestnuts carts.
“The event will also be brimming with traditional chalets and stalls selling high quality seasonal food, drink, art, jewellery, accessories and festive gifts that you won't find on the high street.”
Organised by the team behind the last seven incredibly successful Christmas markets and other similar events, this year’s Victorian Christmas Market and Enchanted Market will again be held in and around the ice rink and the historic Docks.
Gloucester Quays will be launching its Christmas opening hours from the start of the Victorian Christmas Market on 16th November until Friday 29th December. During this period, the center stores will be open until 9pm on week days, with the exception of Bank holidays.
With so much to look forward to at Gloucester Quays this Christmas, shoppers can spend time doing the things they love, like catching up with friends over a seasonal drink or two, taking time to discover that perfect Christmas outfit, soaking up the atmosphere at one of the special events or enjoying festive dining by the waterside.
