Peel L&P has been accredited as a Living Wage employer, a voluntary commitment to pay all directly employed people the Real Living Wage.
The Real Living Wage, currently £9.00 per hour outside London for over 18s, is independently calculated each year based on the cost of living as stated by the Living Wage Foundation.
It is the only UK wage rate that is voluntarily paid by participating businesses and is higher than the government minimum.
Peel L&P is now working towards extending the Living Wage to its sub-contracted employees.
The accreditation is also one of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter pledges which Peel L&P was one of the first business in the region to sign up to earlier this month.
Carrie Westwell, Peel L&P’s Director of People and Culture said: “This accreditation is recognition of the hard work and dedication of our people who’ve helped us to achieve some great things over the years and they are an invaluable part of Peel L&P’s success.”
