Peel Land & Property has announced the appointment of Seddon Construction as the lead contractor on a major refurbishment of The Victoria, one of MediaCityUK’s most iconic buildings.
The refurbishment follows the move of major tenant, BUPA, to its new, purpose-built headquarters next door and sees the landmark property coming back to the market as one of the premier business locations in the North West.
Set to transform the 115,000 sq. ft. Harbour City building, the project, with a total value of more than £5m, includes a complete remodelling and modernisation of the offices, reception and common areas, to further enhance its stunning panoramic views over MediaCityUK’s waterfront.
Tim Taylor, leasing manager for Peel Land and Property, said: “We’re pleased to announce the appointment of Seddon Construction for this landmark project. With the increasing popularity of MediaCityUK as a leading work environment in the North West, this is a perfect time to be bringing this iconic development back to the market. With large floor plates of over 16,000 sq. ft., and a linked secure multi-storey car park, it’s ideally placed to appeal to large space users looking for quality office space.”
Work will also include a comprehensive overhaul and renewal of the building’s M&E facilities, improvements to the external spaces, car park and entrance, plus refurbishment and modernisation of WCs.
When complete, the building will bring forward over 80,000 sq. ft. of high quality Grade A office space in an attractive waterside location, with generous car parking, adjacent to the Harbour City metro stop and within a few minutes’ walk of the retail and leisure amenities of MediaCityUK.
Refurbishment work is due to start on The Victoria this month with a planned completion for the end of the year. Architects on the scheme are Bate & Taylor and the letting agents are Cushman & Wakefield and Avison Young.
