Peel L&P receives duo of shortlists in Business Culture Awards

Following the launch of the ‘Ambition’ leadership training programme in 2016, Peel L&P has been selected as a finalist for ‘Best learning initiative for Business Culture’ in the Business Culture Awards 2019. The regeneration business has also been shortlisted in the Best Medium Organisation for Business Culture category.

Speaking on the positive news, Director of People and Culture at Peel L&P, Carrie Westwell said: “We are delighted to have been selected as finalists for two categories in the Business Culture Awards 2019. Back in 2014, we identified areas of improvement across the organisation, including the management of people, leadership, culture and communication across the organisation. Engagement is vital to us, we are an entrepreneurial organisation and rely heavily on our people to be bold self-starters. When engagement is limited, we don’t get the best results to help us achieve our purpose of ‘realising possibility’.”

“Based on the feedback received and considering the needs of the business going forward, we worked to create our own Leadership Development Programme, now titled ‘Ambition’. The programme, which runs over 12 months, develops areas such as self-confidence, leadership ability, management skills, coaching, dealing with change and the ability to maintain a leader’s mindset.”

Peel L&P has been shortlisted alongside Companies House, Moneysupermarket Group, OneSavings Bank + Culture Consultancy, Travel Counsellors and Volkswagen Group UK in the Best Medium Organisation for Business Culture category.

Carrie concludes: “Now on round four of the Ambition programme, we have developed over 130 of our leaders and plan to progress this further over the next few years. We look forward to the awards evening in November.”
