Plans submitted for new design-led, energy-efficient family homes in Ellesmere Port

Plans have been submitted to deliver 216 new energy-efficient family homes in Ellesmere Port.

New northern-based homebuilder and place maker Northstone, part of Peel L&P, has applied to Cheshire West and Chester Council to build  a further new development at Rossfield Park, Ellesmere Port, where an outline planning permission was granted in 2005 for new housing.

The latest plans include a range of houses to suit the needs of local people, from starter homes to larger family homes as well as options for those looking to downsize.

Rossfield Park, a former industrial site, has been the subject of major regeneration spearheaded by Peel L&P over the past few years. The area has seen over 570 homes delivered by other major housebuilders including Persimmon and Anwyl Homes. Northstone’s plans now represent the final piece in the puzzle.

Jonathan England, Northstone’s Development Director said: “Our vision is to create high-quality homes that are carefully designed inside and out with community, efficiency and sustainability at their heart.

“Our proposals for Rossfield Park set out to do just this while helping to meet local housing demand and complementing the local environment by retaining and enhancing the well-established Jacks Wood with a long-term management plan, improved walkways, signage and areas for exercise and relaxation.”

Northstone’s strategy is to lead with a thoughtful and modern design both internally and externally, with insulation levels above the current building regulation requirements, smart energy-saving technology to help residents save money on their bills and industry-leading hyper fast broadband connectivity.  Pedestrian-led streets will help to reduce traffic speeds and help create a sense of community.

A large central area of open space and other pockets of green space are also planned, along with natural play facilities and improved pedestrian and cycle links for the existing community.

Northstone’s initial development – Silkash – in Westhoughton, Bolton has recently celebrated its show home launch and is now open for viewings, by appointment only.
