Peel L&P, in line with the overarching Peel Group Charity Strategy, works across charitable programmes in healthcare and medical research, culture and the environment, as well as engaging in social and sustainable activity for the public good. We pride ourselves on positively impacting people’s lives, enhancing the physical and mental welfare of our communities, inspiring creativity, and helping to build a sustainable future for all.

Our giving covers a diverse range of causes, from small community groups to regional and national charities, predominantly operating in the north west of England. Through the gifting of funds, grants, use of land and property, media platforms, skills, resources and connections, we provide tangible benefits that positively impact the outcomes of our charitable partners.

Giving back to the community – The Peel Group Foundation

Established and led by the Whittaker Family, The Peel Group Foundation was launched in 2022, to provide financial and non-financial support in alignment with The Peel Group’s business activities by giving back to the communities in which we operate.

The Foundation is independent of The Peel Group’s business interests but aligns with the same principles of enhancing the prosperity of our communities. It encourages and supplements fundraising activities within Peel’s chosen sectors with the sole purpose of supporting charitable initiatives in an efficient, transparent and purposeful manner.

Its core mission is to offer long term support for causes that may otherwise struggle to gain attention working independently of political time-scales, free from short-term market cycles and counter to received wisdom, allowing the Foundation to respond creatively to immediate need as well as take a long-term approach.

The Peel Group Foundation aims to work within five key sectors: healthcare and medical research, culture and heritage, welfare, education and support for the the young, environmental as well as social and sustainable activity for the public benefit.

Liverpool Waters Dragon Boat Race

The Liverpool Dragon Boat race returned to Peel L&P’s Princes Dock at Liverpool Waters on Friday 23rd September, after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. Now in its 10th year, the event offers everything from networking to a little friendly competition down at Princes Dock, whilst raising as much money as possible for Claire House Children’s Hospice.

Organised by our team at Liverpool Waters – Liza Marco, Chris Capes and Sarah Taylor with support from Peel L&P’s Brand, Creative and Digital team, we had 20 teams participate.

Senior Asset Manager at Liverpool Waters, Liza Marco said: “It is fair to say we had a fantastic day raising an incredible £35,000 for Claire House Hospice, the weather was on our side and it was good to see the Dragon Boats return to Princes Dock. We’re so proud to support the hospice who support so many families in Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales and we’re grateful to everyone who took part and did their bit to raise the much needed funds.”

Dan Halliday, Corporate Fundraising Manager from Claire House said: “The amount of money raised at the Dragon Boat Race is just incredible. That could fund a nurse in our hospice for a whole year, which as you can imagine, would do so much for lots of children and their families.”
