Water from canals and docks has been well established as a means of cooling for centuries.

This has traditionally been in areas of manufacturing and power generation.

With an increasing focus on the need for better energy solutions for buildings, this water is increasingly seen as a cost-effective sustainable solution that can reduce the carbon footprint for a range of business applications.

Most buildings can benefit from canal or river water cooling, however those buildings with a large cooling requirement are the most suitable.

Other types of buildings which could benefit include:

Canal, dock and river water provides a cost-effective sustainable alternative to the mains water supply.
Due to the source being local, it also satisfies a business’s Corporate Social Responsibility obligations
and has a lower carbon footprint.
